Turtle Run Winery

Turtle Run Released Several New Vintages

Our wine list constantly changes as new vintages spring forth!  Here are several "newbies" we are working on for our 10 year anniversary on the 31st of March.

Max's Small Batch Red #32: The classic Bordeaux varieties all rolled into one mouthwatering, silky smooth beverage du jour.  The Cabernet Franc 2007 adds great spice, plum, and violet notes.  The Merlot 2008 adds a resounding cherry touch, and the Syrha 2009 adds serious depth and inviting berry notes. Sure to be a collectors item, this wine really brings forth the cabernet franc at the bottle's opening, but give it a day, and the syrahj breathes another set of inviting aromas into the glass. Turtle Run Winery.

Lost My Mind:  I remember in 2004, casually blending Catawba and Concord together and found it tasted really good.  This year, we bottled it!  Brilliant fruit abounds with this deliciously amazing fruit forward wine.

Rhapsody in Red:  Our Indiana only grown cabernet is incredibly smooth and fruit forward.  Delicious on it's own or will compliment a wide variety of foods, from turkey to filet mignon.

Cabernet Franc 2007:  Aged a whopping 37 months in barrels, this wine does not appear on our wine list.  If, however, someone requests it, we'll open it that day.  So if you stop by the winery and want to try this wine, ask!  Otherwise, you'll never discover the layers and layers and layers of complex fruit, tannins and oak that this wine delivers.  One of the best red wines we've ever made!...And that's saying something!!

White Chambourcin 2010:  Inviting blush with nice cherry and strawberry overtones.  Simply delicious with brilliantly intense fruit, with a soft lingering clean fresh fruit finish.  A delightful wine.

Blackberry Wine:  Bottled September 2010, we just released it!  Strange huh?  By the way, there is no sediment in this wine, nor will there be.  When you rely solely on the natural sweetness of the fruit, instead of adding sugar to sweeten a wine, the wine maintains it's stability for an incredibly long time!

Syrah Reserve 2010:  Luscious, intense, generous deep and dense are the subtle and sublime adjectives that describe this jammy plum, berry enriched big red.Serve with wild game such as the venison that free ranges our farm or a thick Porterhouse!  One sip and the smooth, everlasting fruit will captivate your “buds”.

All of these wonderful wines are made by winemaker Jim Pfeiffer with a “food-friendly, soft” style that are easy to drink and complement food extremely well. All wines are available in the winery tasting room, via the internet at www.turtlerunwinery.com, or in various retailers and restaurants in Indiana and Kentucky. More information on purchasing these wines is also available by calling the winery at 812-952-2650.
